A great opener for another trick. A participant selects a card from the deck, and this card is immediately made to vanish before their eyes. It is found in your wallet (or somewhere else appropriate), and the participant is invited to insert it facedown into the deck somewhere. The card is well and truly lost with a series of cuts, having done this you can instantly locate the card in the deck, as it is the only one that is face up.
