The Mystic Rod (or Clear Hot Rod) is a classic in close-up magic. The magician shows a plastic rod with different color spots; this is shown on both sides. A spectator freely selects a number from one to six. The number the spectator chooses is counted to that spot and the color is remembered. The rod is given a wave and all of the spots change to the selected color! This is an ideal trick for walk around restaurant workers as well as being the perfect trick to introduce you to the world of magic. And it fits in your pocket too!
